All-State Recognition - A major highlight of the weekend was Commander Chet Pino accepting VFW Post 9676 All-State award! He was presented with the distinguished White Cap, which signifies that Post 9676 members went above and beyond to meet the rigorous All-State requirements.
Earning All-State honors in New Mexico is a massive accomplishment that requires teamwork from the entire Post. To qualify, a Post must meet strict criteria, including:
- Achieving at least 100% in membership growth.
- Sponsoring local students for the Voice of Democracy and Patriot's Pen scholarship programs.
- Purchasing and distributing Buddy Poppies.
- Completing community service initiatives and making a donation to the Veterans & Military Support program.
- Maintaining perfect administrative compliance, including timely trustee reports, audits, and inspections.
Valencia County News-BulletinVeterans Day is a day set aside to acknowledge those men and women who have served and are presently serving in all branches of the U.S. Military in defense of our country and in preservation of our freedoms. The Valencia County News-Bulletin will again honor Valencia County Veterans and active duty Valencia County service members by posting their photographers in the News-Bulletin's Veterans Day Section to be published on the Thursday before Veterans Day. Please consider honoring your veterans or active duty service member by submitting a photograph. If you have already submitted a photo and information for your veteran or active duty service member, the News-Bulletin has them on file and will publish them again this year. The deadline to submit photos will be announced.
