Because our Post is located on Village of Los Lunas property, we are not allowed to have a Canteen where liquor can be served. We also can rent the facility.
No, we do not currently have an Auxiliary. However, our spouses and significant others are very active in helping Post members accomplish their mission. We also have many supporters and sponsors that are willing to step up and help whenever we need them. For example, at our annual 4th of July Open House patriotic citizens/supporters show up to help us setup tents, tables and chairs. They make themselves available to serve the public a free meal consisting of hamburgers, hot dogs, chips, cold watermelon, and soft drinks. We are very fortunate and count on their support.
Unfortunately, because our Post Home is located on Village of Los Lunas property, we do not have a Hall or facility that we can rent out for events.
Absolutely not. We are here to service our Community - Free of Charge - whether you are a War Veteran or not. Please be aware, however, that based on our By-Laws, Veterans of Foreign Wars must be our number one priority. Donation, of course will always gratefully be accepted, but are in no way expected.
We meet at our Post Home, located in the yellow converted railroad depot building at the entrance to Daniel D. Fernandez Memorial Park, located at 1201 State Hwy 301 in Los Lunas, NM 87031. We meet once a month starting at 7:00 p.m. on the 2nd Wednesday of every month.
Yes we do accept worn and tattered flags for proper retirement. We have installed a Worn Flag Depository at the entrance to our Post, located at 1201 State Hwy 314, Los Lunas, NM 87031. If you have any questions, please call Commander Pino at 505-414-0288 or Quartermaster, Jack Lovato at 505-550-4076.
Our programs support our service members while they are on the front line, as they are being discharged and long after they return. Your tax-deductible donation will be immediately directed to the VFW programs where your support is most urgently needed.
