Dorsey L Moore

1922-2019
Dorsey L. Moore, age 96, passed away on May 24, 2019. He was a WWII Pacific veteran and a charter member of the Los Lunas VFW #9676 and belongs to the DAV and American Legion. Dorsey played the mandolin and loved country music. He built his home and some of the furniture in it. Dorsey was a mechanic and drove an Excelcer laundry truck for years. He did electronic repair at home before computer chips. He loved fishing and hunting. Dorsey was a graduate of Quemado High School and has several "Oldest Graduate” trophies and plaques.  Dorsey is survived by his wife Charlene; two sons, Terry Moore, John Moore and wife Addie; brother, Jack Moore; four sisters, Ruth Clark, Ila Gambling, Freida Sharrock and Callie Moore; grandsons, Lance Moore, Russell and Christine Wilson, Chris and Lynette Barbee, J.D. Moore, Justin and Martha Sanders; granddaughters, Kerry Dawn Moore, Billie Jean Harris and Sheila and husband Jody Barrock; numerous great-grandchildren; two great-great granddaughters and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins. He was greatly loved by his family and he loved them. The family wants to thank the VA Hospice team, who gave him such loving care in his final days. In lieu of flowers, a donation to any of the above veteran’s organizations would be appreciated. Services will take place on Saturday, June 1, 2019, at Romero Funeral Home Chapel, beginning with a Public Viewing at 1:00 PM and a Celebration of Life at 2:00 PM. Interment will take place on Tuesday, June 4, 2019, at 10:30 AM at Santa Fe National Cemetery. Please sign Dorsey’s online tribute at
